General description of the collection: The All Volunteer Army collection is a research collection partly compiled by Robert K. Griffith Jr. The bulk of the material consists of photocopies of official documents and printed material related to the United States (U.S.) Army's transition to an All Volunteer Force. The collection consists of seven series: Official Correspondence, Official Papers (sub-series: Drafts, Memorandums, Notes, Reports, and Testimonies), Oral Histories, Printed Materials (sub-series: Bibliographies, News Clippings), Speeches, Reference Cards and Oversize.
